Brazil week 3

Hi everyone!!!

sorry not been in contact been soooooo manic here, though really not complaining!! Life out in Brazil has been good to us all and our team have been able to bond very well, though i continue to ask you to pray for us as a team and our work out in Brazil!!

Within the past few weeks we have been working with a pastor called Herberto. He is trying to bulid and and referbish a church and play area for kids and really trying to bring in the poorer communites into the church and to find God.

Here is a few photo´s of the play area for the kids when we first arrive, you might be able to see but the pitch is very uneven and weeds, glass and rubble are all scatered all over the place. It was hard but we managed to flaten it all out and sort alot of the pitch we are even going to add some turf to the pitch to flatten it all out even further!

We have also been working with some street kids in the villas, that was very challenage as this kids lived in very basic conditions. Such as they had an open sewage system and when it would rain the sewage sytems would flood and waste would go into people´s homes. The kids themselves had little to wear and infectious cuts on them and were not always in the best conditions, since alot of them will be abused and will have a violent life in front of them. On a seperate occasion we were working with the homeless and we saw a 10 year old girl with very little on, selling herself and was high on glue. It is sights like these that we all struggle as in the group because we feel, How can God allow this? though we all have had experience’s that show us how God is so upset and annoyed at sights like this and he has given us strength to carry on his work, which is very exciting!!! Hi everyone! It is soo amazing out here! very very hot! i think it has been around 34C or so. Our apartment is right next to the beach so it is unreal! like we come home from work and we pop into the sea, and it is just an awesome feeling! we are also loving the fruit, we have coco-nut pretty much every day and good news none of us have been ill yet!!! People out here do have nothing and the rich view the poor as rats and evil creatures and it has been so hard to get the rich involved with outreach to the poor and times when the rich go to the shanty towns they will just stand apart from the poor and not interact with them at all! anyway thank you for all the support and like helping me with money and yeah everthing because this is a life changing trip out here!

I met my step team in London last week, they are all very nice and we seem to get on very well. We all cant believe that we are finally going to Brazil! Check back in soon for more actual updates when we arrive in Brazil!!!!!
